Original Minutes of the Schooley's Mountain Fire Protection Association

August 18, 1951 8 P.M.

The meeting was called to order at 8 P.M.

A motion was made that the organization be called the Schooley’s Mountain Fire Protective Association, it was seconded and approved.

A motion was made that there be a vote of appreciation for the collections committee, seconded and approved.

Report of Collections Committee:
                     Collected $1743.00
                     Pledged      $208.00

Officers were elected as follows:

President - - - - Kurt Meyer
V. Pres - - - - - Joseph Narducci
Secretary - - - - Alvah H. Thomas
Treasurer - - - - Irvin H. Francis

A motion made and seconded that Mr. George Skinner be named Honarary(sic) President, motion carried.

The following committees were appointed:

Charting of Water Supply, Otto Zanker, Chairman
John Rice and Sterling Reid.

Equipment Maintenance, Sterling Reid, Chairman
Harold Stevens and A.H. Thomas

The problem of a central point to call in case of fire was discussed. It was decided that this should be looking into further before a decision was reached.

A motion was made and seconded that we accept the fire truck as purchased at a price of $405.00, the check to be made payable to Kurt Meyer to reimburse him for paying for same, motion carried.

The problem of insurance was discussed. Mr. Wager was asked to look further into this problem and submit a report.

The purchasing of the following equipment was recommended:
