Fire Company introduces new patch (July 17, 2006)

The fire company has unveiled a new patch design to use as both a logo and to compliment uniforms and fire company apparel. Following months of design proposals and ideas, a final selection was made that captures the origin and history of the fire company. Based on a banner used for parades from the early days of the association, the new patch designed by life member Mike DeNardis, shows the Ford Great Eastern, Engine 5 exiting from the original firehouse on Schooley's Mountain Road. While the three fire companies in the township are all part of the Washington Township Fire Department which has it's own logo, each company sought to highlight their own history by having a logo specific to each company. Fairmount and Long Valley have developed patches in the past few years (see below) and now Schooley's Mountain joins them with a unique design that has quickly garnered the attention of other departments throughout the region and beyond.

Because of costs and proprietary design, the patch is not available for trade or purchase to those outside of the WTFD.
