Firefighters complete Wildland Training (March 13, 2010)
Three of Schooley's Mountain's firefighters completed wildland firefighting training provided by the New Jersey Forest Fire Service. The classroom training began in January and culminated with a written test in March along with a day of practical training as the NJFFS Division A headquarters in Andover. Despite heavy rain and driving winds, all the members of the class were in attendance and successfully completed the training. SMFPA members now certified are Past Chief Bob Carey, Firefighter Tom Derasmi and Past Chief Keith Heimburg. More on the practical exercise, along with some photos are available at this link... click here.
