1997 Pierce Dash

Quint 3-9

This 75 foot Pierce heavy duty aerial was first delivered in July of 1997.   It's relatively short wheel base allows maneuverability in the many small, narrow streets and driveways of Washington Township.   It is the first aerial for the Township. In 2016, the Township committee, on the recommendation of the fire company, approved funding to refurbish the truck in order to keep it viable for a longer duration. After 19 years, the truck is in good enough condition that with the cost for the upgrades being just a fraction of the cost of a new truck, all were in agreement that the investment was worthwhile. Refurbishment is often a logical step to extending the life cycle of apparatus for an additional 10 to 15 years of front line service. It was returned to service in April 2017.
